Why GMOs Are Dangerous and What You Can Do About It

What is a Genetically Modified Organism?
GMO (genetically modified organism) is not at all like what we have done so far in human history where we cross-bred many species to improve certain features. All cross breeding so far always used naturally occurring features and combined them to improve features within the same species.
GMO on the other hand deliberately takes one DNA material from totally unrelated species (bacteria and virus), in fact, crossing over kingdom lines (animal to plant) to other species (grains, vegetables, and fruits). Often, the features that are chosen to alter are not nutrient related, but for insecticide and herbicide (poisons) and for the profit purposes.
The technology is fraught with dangerous side effects and proven to be toxic to our health including: allergens, carcinogens, new diseases, antibiotic resistant diseases, and nutritional problems.
The most frightening thing is that this was introduced to USA quietly by FDA in 1992 and allowed to bypass all the required testing and labeling.
With the total lack of labeling for GMO, we are unknowingly exposed to this ubiquitous toxic foods; greater than 80% of packaged foods are GMO and the percentage is increasing.
Learn To Avoid GMOs
There are nine GM food crops: corn, soy, canola (oil), cottonseed (oil), sugar from sugar beets , Hawaiian papaya, a small amount of zucchini and yellow crookneck squash, and alfalfa used for hay.
Derivatives of these GMOs, such as vegetable oil, corn syrup, and soy lecithin, are found in more than 70% of supermarket foods. GMOs are also fed to animals that provide meat, milk, and eggs.
To avoid GMOs, you can avoid brands with the at-risk ingredients, purchase organic products, or look for non-GMO labels.
